As part of the national preparations for the 7th Economic Census, the Union Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) is conducting a series of State Level Training of Trainers (ToT) workshops. The training workshop for the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi is scheduled for June 6, 2019, at the Silver Oak Conference Room, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
These workshops are vital to equip state-level trainers with key concepts, digital tools, and field protocols. The initiative follows a National Workshop held on May 14, 2019, where master trainers were introduced to the digital platform and application being used for enumeration and supervision.

About the 7th Economic Census
The Economic Census is a comprehensive count of all establishments involved in the production or distribution of goods and services, except for purely self-consumed activities. It collects data on key structural and operational variables such as:
Nature of economic activity
Ownership type
Employment
Geographic distribution and clustering of establishments
This rich data resource plays a crucial role in socio-economic planning at district and state levels, and also supports follow-up enterprise surveys.
The 7th Economic Census (2019) marks a significant digital shift. For the first time, MoSPI is using an IT-based digital platform for data collection, validation, and dissemination. The fieldwork is expected to begin by the end of June 2019. MoSPI has partnered with CSC e-Governance Services India Limited, a Special Purpose Vehicle under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, as the implementing agency for this census.
