The Office of the Games & Sports, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) under the supervision of its Director Prof. Waseem Ahmad Khan organised a Walkathon – Marathon as part of Vigilance Awareness Week (VAW), being observed by the university from 31st October- 6th November, 2022. Holding banners to convey a message about the VAW, school students including NSS volunteers, sportspersons of the university, teaching and non-teaching staff participated in it.
JMI Registrar Prof. Nazim Husain Jafri flagged off the Walkathon – Marathon at the Jamia School Campus which ended at the MAK Pataudi Sports Complex of the university where JMI Vice Chancellor Prof. Najma Akhtar and Prof. Ejaz Masih, Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO), JMI received participants.
The Vice Chancellor in her address to students said everyone needs to be vigilant as it starts with self. I hope that our students will be strong enough to face the harshness of life and spend their lives with honesty.
Prof. Ejaz Masih, CVO, JMI elaborated about the purpose of the Vigilance Awareness Week and the importance of integrity in public life.
Prof. Sanjay Singh, Dean, Faculty of Dentistry & Chairman Sport Committee, JMI administered the integrity pledge to the participants.
The theme of this year’s vigilance awareness week is “Corruption free India for a developed nation- भ्रस्ताचार मुक्त भारत – विकसित भारत”
Prof. Waqar A. Siddiqui, Deputy Director, Games & Sports, JMI and his team worked hard to conduct the event successfully. The program ended with a vote of thanks by Prof. Waseem Ahmad Khan, Director, Games & Sports, JMI.
