New York, March 11: Several U.S. stocks recorded dramatic movements in late trading on Tuesday, with renewable energy and biotechnology firms dominating the list of top gainers while technology-related stocks led the declines.
According to market data, Nuvve Holding Corp. emerged as the top advancing stock, surging 113.33%. The company was followed by biotech firm Acurx Pharmaceuticals, which jumped 107.93%, reflecting strong investor interest in pharmaceutical and healthcare sector plays.
Other notable gainers included 60 Degrees Pharmaceuticals, whose warrants and shares gained 84.21% and 71.27%, respectively. Meanwhile, XCF Global Inc. recorded a 74.50% rise during the session.
Major Decliners
On the downside, lidar technology firm Aeva Technologies led the losses, dropping 63.13%, marking the sharpest fall among actively traded stocks.
The decline was followed by Israeli automotive technology company Innoviz Technologies, which fell 43%, while medical technology firm Strata Critical Medical declined 42.57%.
Other notable losers included beverage company Innovation Beverage Group, which slipped 36.16%, and Big Tree Cloud Holdings, down 35.15%.
Most Active Stocks by Volume
Trading activity remained heavy across several smaller-cap and leveraged funds. Network technology company Actelis Networks led trading volumes with over 375 million shares changing hands, while biotech firm KALA BIO recorded more than 287 million shares traded.
Leveraged exchange-traded funds such as T‑REX 2X Long BMO ETF and Direxion Daily Small Cap Bear 3X Shares also saw strong participation during the session.
Most Active by Dollar Volume
Among large-cap stocks, the most active securities by dollar value included the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust and the Invesco QQQ Trust, which track the broader U.S. market and technology sector respectively.
Individual tech giants also saw significant trading activity, including electric vehicle maker Tesla and semiconductor leader NVIDIA. Chip manufacturer Micron Technology posted a strong gain of 3.86%, highlighting continued investor interest in semiconductor stocks.
