New Delhi, July 4: The University Placement Cell (UPC) successfully organized a two-day "Employability Boot Camp" on June 26th and 27th in association with Elios Management Consulting Group. Aimed at equipping Diploma, Undergraduate, and Postgraduate students with essential employability skills, the event saw enthusiastic participation and concluded with positive feedback. This event happened with the support, motivation and guidance of top leadership of Offg. Vice Chancellor, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), Prof. M. Shakeel. This employability Boot Camp was crafted by the team of University Placement Cell which includes Prof. Rahela Farooqui, Director, UPC, Prof. Sabah Khan, Dy. Director, UPC and Prof. Rihan Khan Suri, Training & Placement Officer.
The boot camp commenced with an inaugural ceremony featuring addresses by distinguished guests. Mr. Ashok Seth, Director Finance & Assurance and General Counsel (Retd.), Plan India, delivered the inaugural address, followed by Mr. Sabbar Tousif, Managing Director, Elios Management Consulting, who shared his valuable insights. The Chief Guest, Prof. Abid Haleem, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) also addressed the participants. The keynote address was delivered by Ms. Gayatri Florence, Head of the Academic Wing at the National Council of YMCAs. The ceremony concluded with the presentation of mementoes to all esteemed guests and a vote of thanks by Prof. Rihan Khan Suri.
Day one included workshops on resume writing, aptitude test preparation, and digital skills training led by expert trainer Mr. Ravi Gupta. Day two focused on interview skills, group discussion techniques, and personalized mentoring sessions with industry professionals, including Mrs. Maneesha Khanna and Mr. Rupesh Bhagchandani.
The Employability Boot Camp aimed to enhance students' employability skills, boost their confidence in job searches, provide practical training in resume writing, aptitude tests, digital skills, interview techniques, and GD skills. Additionally, personalized guidance and mentorship from industry professionals aimed to better prepare students for the job market and facilitate networking opportunities with potential employers.
The success of the Employability Boot Camp lies not only in the valuable knowledge imparted but also in the interactive and engaging nature of the sessions. Participants left equipped with practical skills and a deeper understanding of the subject matter, poised to navigate their professional journeys with confidence.
The event concluded with a valedictory session led by Mr. Rupesh Bhagchandani, Practice Leader and Director of UnoSkills Solutions Pvt. Ltd., and Mrs. Maneesha Khanna, Master Trainer & Lead Assessor, Management & Entrepreneurship and Professional Skill Council, MEPSC, NSDC, Skill India. Certificates of participation were distributed, and closing remarks were shared by Prof. Rihan Khan Suri. The positive feedback from students underscores the success of the boot camp in achieving its objectives.
