Triumph Knights Mumbai North East registered a convincing six-wicket victory over MSC Maratha Royals in the T20 Mumbai League after a dominant all-round performance led by Suryakumar Yadav and Sylvester D’Souza.
After losing the toss and being asked to bat first, MSC Maratha Royals faced early setbacks despite positive starts from Sahil Jadhav (15) and captain Siddhesh Lad (24 off 16). The innings was rebuilt through a crucial middle-order partnership between Chinmay Sutar and Maxwell David Swaminathan.
Sutar, last season’s highest run-scorer in the T20 Mumbai League, played a composed knock of 32 off 26 deliveries, while Maxwell contributed 36 off 29 balls, including 2 sixes and 1 four. Together, they stitched a valuable 64-run partnership in 47 deliveries, helping the Royals recover from a difficult position and pushing the total to 152 all out in 19.5 overs.
For Triumph Knights, Sylvester D’Souza produced the bowling performance of the match, claiming 5 wickets for 21 runs, while Sagar Mishra provided excellent support with figures of 2/30.
Chasing 153, Triumph Knights were powered by a match-winning partnership between Suryakumar Yadav and Nutan Kumar Goel. Suryakumar displayed his class with a blistering 68 off 35 balls, striking 12 boundaries and a six, while Nutan contributed a fluent 56 off 42 deliveries.
