Agartala | April 17, 2026: The Tipra Motha Party has retained power with a massive mandate in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections, reinforcing its dominance in the tribal council.
According to official results, Tipra Motha secured 24 out of 28 seats, crossing the two-thirds majority mark comfortably. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won the remaining 4 seats.
Stronger mandate than 2021
The latest verdict marks a significant improvement for Tipra Motha compared to the 2021 TTAADC elections:
- 2026: 24 seats (Tipra Motha), 4 seats (BJP)
- 2021: 18 seats (Tipra Motha), 9 seats (BJP), 1 Independent
The results indicate a consolidation of tribal support in favour of Tipra Motha across the autonomous council areas.
