India, 18 August 2026: The Directorate of Information Technology (DIT), Government of Tripura, in collaboration with T-Hub, Hyderabad, has strengthened the State’s startup ecosystem through strategic partnerships with HDFC Bank Limited, Amazon Seller Services Private Limited (Amazon.in), and Zoho Corporation Private Limited, alongside the launch of the T-RISE (Tripura Registry & Integration for Startup Ecosystem) Portal.
The announcements were made at the “Building a Unicorn in Tripura” workshop at Pragya Bhavan, Agartala, inaugurated by Shri Pranajit Singha Roy, Hon’ble Minister for Information Technology, Finance, Planning & Coordination.
Speaking at the event, Shri Pranajit Singha Roy said the Government is focused on creating an enabling environment where young entrepreneurs can build businesses, generate employment and develop technology-led solutions from Tripura. He highlighted progressive policies, digital infrastructure and industry partnerships as key pillars of the State’s strategy to attract investment and strengthen entrepreneurship.
The three MoUs are aimed at giving startups access to capabilities across finance, e-commerce, technology and business support. HDFC Bank will provide access to specialised financial products, while Amazon.in will support digital business, e-commerce and export opportunities. Zoho Corporation will support startups through cloud technologies, mentorship, technical advisory services and capacity-building programmes. The partnerships are intended to help startups from Tripura build capabilities and access national and global markets.
The partnerships come as Tripura builds out its startup infrastructure under the New Sector-Agnostic Tripura Startup Policy. Since the policy’s launch, the State has received 185+ startup applications, approved 140 registrations and recognised 70 startups. More than ₹2.72 crore in financial assistance has been extended through the Tri-Seed Fund, Proof of Concept (PoC) support and operational assistance.
The newly launched T-RISE Portal will serve as an integrated digital platform connecting startups with incubators, mentors, investors, academic institutions and Government departments. It currently provides access to a growing network of 20+ mentors, 10+ investors, 10+ corporates, incubators and domain experts across technology, finance, marketing, legal and business strategy. The platform will also connect Tripura’s global professional community of technology leaders, entrepreneurs and experts with roots in the State to its startup ecosystem.
The State has also established T-NEST, its State-level incubation centre at the International Business Centre, Hapania, providing startups with incubation, mentorship, technical guidance and market linkages. DIT has partnered with T-Hub as a knowledge partner to support the implementation of the Startup Policy and bring its expertise, networks and accelerator programmes to Tripura.
The workshop featured mentoring sessions by T-Hub on innovation management, business scaling, fundraising and market expansion, as well as an interaction with Mr. Tejaswi Bhagavatula, VP, Skyroot Aerospace, and other startup founders. Skyroot Aerospace, India’s first space-tech unicorn, has made history with Vikram-S, India’s first privately developed rocket, and Vikram-I, which became the first privately developed Indian rocket to successfully reach orbit from Indian soil.
