Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Shri Jual Oram on Thursday led a high-level dialogue with tribal Members of Parliament and Ministers, underscoring the collective resolve of elected tribal leadership to accelerate the holistic development of tribal communities across the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
Reading out a detailed statement, Shri Oram said the dialogue reflected the shared responsibility and unified approach of MPs and Ministers towards the inclusion, empowerment, and dignity of tribal citizens, in alignment with the national vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas.” He emphasized that tribal MPs play a critical role not only in policy advocacy, but also in ensuring the effective implementation of welfare initiatives and their reach to the last mile.
The Minister outlined key national initiatives such as PM-JANMAN, Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, Eklavya Model Residential Schools, and the strengthened implementation of the Forest Rights Act, which together are driving transformational change in tribal- and PVTG-dominated regions through focused development. He highlighted significant achievements in housing, drinking water, electrification, healthcare, education, livelihoods, and cultural preservation.
Special emphasis was placed on quality residential education for tribal children, elimination of sickle cell disease, expansion of livelihood opportunities through Van Dhan initiatives, and community empowerment through recognition of forest rights.
