July 24, 2026: The Public Health Engineering Department has launched a major project to strengthen drinking water security in Rajasthan's Pali district, with two large water reservoirs to be constructed in Dhola and Sindru villages of the Sumerpur block at a cost of ₹26.7 crore.
The foundation stone for the project was laid by Animal Husbandry Minister Joraram Kumawat.
The project is aimed at addressing drinking water shortages in rural areas and ensuring a more reliable supply during technical disruptions. The reservoirs will provide additional storage capacity for Dhola, Sindru and surrounding villages.
Speaking at the foundation stone-laying ceremony, Minister Kumawat said the state government is committed to providing clean and adequate drinking water to every household. He said the project would strengthen the region's water infrastructure and help ensure continued supply during pipeline leaks, damage or maintenance work.
The stored water will be used to maintain supplies to villages during periods when the main pipeline is disrupted, helping prevent prolonged interruptions in drinking water availability.
