The Agriculture Department will take strict action against those who tag and sell other products with Urea and DAP fertilizers. In this regard, orders have been issued to Deputy Directors of Agriculture to take action while giving instructions to fertilizer supply companies and sellers.
Agriculture Commissioner Mr. Kanaram said that due to good monsoon this year in the state, the demand for fertilizers has increased due to increase in sowing area of rabi crops and advance sowing. It is necessary to make fertilizers available to the farmers on time as per the demand, for which every possible effort is being made continuously, but in the meanwhile some supplier companies and fertilizer sellers are using urea and DAP along with sulphur, nano urea, herbicide, pesticide, trace elements. Tagging and selling of other products like mixture has come to notice, which is totally unfair. He told that doing so is a clear violation of FCO, 1985 and Fertilizer Movement Order and Essential Commodities Act, 1955. In this regard, the Union Ministry of Fertilizers has also issued instructions not to do tagging and to take strict action against those who do tagging.
Agriculture commissioner has directed all fertilizer supplier companies and sellers not to tag other products with urea and DAP and all fertilizer sellers should ensure to display stock quantity and price list of fertilizers available with them. He said that if any complaint is received in this regard, strict action will be taken under FCO, 1985.
Agriculture Commissioner Shri Kanaram appointed all the Deputy Directors Agriculture (V.). He has been instructed to continuously monitor the sale of fertilizers during the season by inspecting the establishments and warehouses of authorized fertilizer vendors working in his district from time to time. He has given instructions for tagging other products along with fertilizers, taking necessary legal action against individuals and institutions doing black marketing and sending fertilizers to the Information Commissionerate without POS machines.
