Under the aegis of Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation Limited (RICO), on behalf of the Council of State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation of India (CoCDC), the Eighth National CoCDC Awards – 2022 ceremony was held on Thursday night at Hotel Indana, Shikargarh, Jodhpur district.
Chief Guest Industries and Commerce Minister Smt. Shakuntala Rawat inaugurated the ceremony by lighting the lamp. On behalf of CoCDC, the Minister of Industry and Commerce honored the office bearers and entrepreneurs of companies, institutions, industrial establishments from different parts of the country by giving National Awards for their excellent work and remarkable contribution in various fields. Outstanding SIDC Award was presented to EDC Limited, Goa. Fifty entrepreneurs from the states of Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Kerala, Karnataka, Jammu Kashmir, Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan were honored for their outstanding performance at the function. Maximum 21 entrepreneurs are from Rajasthan.
Chief Guest Industries and Commerce Minister Smt. Shakuntala Rawat, in her address on the occasion, expressed best wishes while congratulating all the entrepreneurs who received the awards stating the important role of CoCDC in the rapid and overall industrial development of the country.
Referring to the availability of abundant natural resources, agricultural production, mineral deposits, renewable energy etc. in Rajasthan, he said that along with the development and expansion of industries based on natural resources in Rajasthan, there are immense possibilities of investment in these. Industries Minister said that Rajasthan ranks first in the country in terms of production of crude oil in on-shop dealing. A Petroleum Chemicals and Petrochemicals Investment Region in the form of Rajasthan Petro Zone is being set up by RIICO in Pachpadra itself for setting up downstream industries based on the products of petroleum refinery and petrochemical complex being set up at Pachpadra in Barmer district of the state. He said that the state government, giving shape to its multi-pronged efforts, has created a favorable environment for the establishment and operation of industries in the state. It is the effort of the government that there should be progressive development and expansion of industries established in the state.
Industries Minister said that recently the new Rajasthan Investment Promotion Scheme 2022 has been implemented in the state and it is the best among the schemes prevalent in different states, in which various facilities and concessions have been included for enterprises with innovations and maximum practicality. . In this, sector specific policies such as Solar Energy Policy, Electric Vehicle Policy etc. have also been implemented. The facilities, services and concessions available to the enterprises in Rajasthan are better and competitive as compared to other states.
He informed that one stop shop system has been implemented in the state for enterprises with investment of more than Rs 10 crore. Under this, the officers of 14 departments are providing sweets to such enterprises at a rapid pace under one roof in the Bureau of Investment Promotion. Smt. Rawat said that apart from transparent and excellent policy framework, convenient and investment environment in the state, we have developed industrial infrastructure for industries at a rapid pace. RIICO will have at least one industrial area in each subdivision of Rajasthan. Last month, RIICO has launched 25 such industrial areas. At present RIICO has more than 400 industrial areas in the state.
Smt. Rawat informed that a new company Rajasthan Industrial Corporation Limited has been formed to develop Khushkheda-Bhiwadi-Neemrana Investment Region and Jodhpur-Pali-Marwar Industrial Area Industrial Township in the state under the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor. Rajasthan ranks second in the country in terms of receiving investments from Indian and foreign companies. The new investment received by Rajasthan has increased by 535 percent to Rs. 2 lakh 37 thousand crore in the year 2021-22 as against Rs. 37 thousand crore in the year 2020-21. From this point of view, Rajasthan is establishing itself as the best state in all the fields of industrial development, investment etc.
RIICO Director Mr. Sunil Parihar termed the National Award ceremony as a historic program to be written in golden letters in Jodhpur and the industry. This will attract more investment in Jodhpur.
