Ranbanka Balaji Trust and the Foundation for Ecological Security will host a state-level workshop on “Biodiversity and Conservation” at Hotel Royal Orchid, Jaipur, on August 19.
The keynote speaker, “Butterfly Man of Uttarakhand” Peter Smetacek, will share insights on natural resource management and biodiversity conservation, along with the fascinating story of butterflies.
Other speakers include Shantanu Sinha Roy (State Lead, FES Rajasthan) on groundwater depletion and lessons from rural Rajasthan, Dr. Satish Kumar Sharma and Dr. Anil Sarsawan on ecological health monitoring and commons, Trustee Ranbanka Shweta Rathore on strengthening rural livelihoods, and Vijay Dhasmana on the Aravalli ecosystem and its importance for Rajasthan. Additionally, Dr. Hemlata Manglani and Dr. L.K. Sharma will address key sessions.
The workshop aims to bring together policymakers, researchers, and communities to discuss ecological challenges and conservation strategies, with special focus on rural livelihoods, ecological health monitoring, and Aravalli conservation.
