Jaipur, January 8, 2026: Acting on the directions of Excise Commissioner Shri Shivprasad Nakate, the Excise Department is continuing its special enforcement drive across the state to curb smuggling of liquor from other states and to prevent the illegal manufacture, storage, transportation and sale of illicit liquor.
Under the supervision of Additional Excise Commissioner (Administration) Shri O.P. Jain and Additional Excise Commissioner (Policy) Shri Pradeep Singh Sangawat, excise enforcement teams are implementing a zero-tolerance policy as part of the special drive. Raids, patrols and checkpoints are being conducted across the state, leading to the seizure of illegal liquor and registration of cases as per rules.
In Kushalgarh area of Banswara district, excise enforcement teams destroyed 2,300 litres of wash and seized 111 bottles of illicit country liquor during a raid. Two accused were arrested on the spot and cases were registered.
In Bari area of Dholpur district, during patrolling, one motorcycle and one scooter involved in illegal liquor activities were seized. Illegal liquor was also recovered from a deep freezer. Two accused were arrested and cases were registered.
In Churu district, enforcement action led to the seizure of 141 pouches of country liquor, 17 litres of illicit country liquor, and destruction of 370 litres of wash.
In Jaipur district, the Jaipur Rural Excise team seized 30 litres of illicit country liquor, destroyed 2,700 litres of wash and three illegal distillation furnaces (bhattas). Equipment used for manufacturing liquor was also destroyed at the site.
