The Government of India has announced that Sovereign Gold Bonds 2019-20 (Series III) will be open for subscription from August 5 to August 9, 2019, in accordance with Government Notification No. F. No. 4(7)-W&M/2019 dated May 30, 2019, and the Press Release dated May 31, 2019.
As per the Reserve Bank of India’s Press Release dated August 2, 2019, the issue price for the subscription period has been fixed at ₹3,499 per gram of gold, with August 14, 2019, designated as the settlement date.
To encourage digital transactions, the Government of India, in consultation with the Reserve Bank of India, has decided to offer a discount of ₹50 per gram to investors applying online and making payments through digital modes. Accordingly, the issue price for such investors will be ₹3,449 per gram of gold.
