Alwar: Vallabh Maheshwari (62), Managing Director of Shakun Group, died after his BMW car overturned on the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway in Rajasthan’s Alwar district on Sunday evening.
Maheshwari was travelling from Jaipur to Giriraj Ji in Mathura when the accident occurred near chainage 136.8 on the expressway under the Raini police station area.
According to police officials, the car went out of control, broke through the barricades, entered the median and crashed into the wall of a culvert. The impact severely damaged the vehicle.
The accident took place around 4 pm on Sunday. While Maheshwari sustained critical injuries, the driver escaped with only minor injuries.
Police reached the spot soon after receiving the information and rushed both Maheshwari and the driver to Pinan Hospital. After primary treatment, they were referred to the Alwar District Hospital.
Doctors at Harish Hospital in Alwar later declared Vallabh Maheshwari dead.
Maheshwari was a prominent businessman and served as a director in several companies under the Shakun Group.
His body was later sent to Jaipur by ambulance.
