New Delhi, April 30, 2026: The 350th martyrdom year of Guru Tegh Bahadur, along with the 127th birth anniversary of Babuji Maharaj and the 117th birth anniversary of Tukdoji Maharaj, was observed at the Heartfulness headquarters, Kanha Shanti Vanam, on the outskirts of Hyderabad.
Organised by the Ministry of Culture and Heartfulness, the second day of the three-day event featured Shabad Kirtan, group meditation, talks, an exhibition, and a film screening on Guru Tegh Bahadur ji. Over 30,000 people attended in person, with many more joining virtually from across the world.
Dignitaries present included former President Ram Nath Kovind; Uttarakhand Governor Gurmit Singh; Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla; and Telangana Minister for Tourism and Culture Jupally Krishna Rao. Union Minister for Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat addressed the gathering via video message.
A group meditation session was led by Daaji, Guide of Heartfulness and President of Shri Ram Chandra Mission. The event also featured Shabad Kirtan by Alankar Singh, accompanied by Sardar Narender Pal Singh (Tabla), Sardar Parminder Singh (Rubab), and Sardar Jagjit Singh (Swarmandal).
Speaking on the occasion, Ram Nath Kovind highlighted the sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadur ji in protecting human rights and religious freedom, and emphasised the relevance of spiritual teachings in fostering unity and inner balance.
