September 28, 2026: Major cryptocurrencies traded lower on Monday, with Bitcoin, Ether, Binance Coin, Solana and XRP among the large-cap assets registering declines. Bitcoin was trading at $83,459, down 1.19%, while Ether fell 1.39% to $2,651.48.
Bitcoin's market capitalisation stood at around $1.70 trillion, while Ether's market cap was approximately $425.16 billion.

Weekly Performance
Despite the day's declines, several cryptocurrencies remained higher over the past week. Polkadot gained 4.08%, while Cardano rose 3.54% and Uniswap advanced 4.98%.
Litecoin gained 13.61% over the week, while Polygon rose 8.90%.
Monthly Gains Remain Strong
The monthly picture remained positive across several major tokens. Uniswap surged 101.79%, followed by Polkadot at 48.37%, Avalanche at 47.81% and Litecoin at 43.80%.
Bitcoin was up 6.72% over the month, while Ether gained 7.99% and Solana advanced 13.85%.
YTD Performance
On a year-to-date basis, Uniswap was up 68.15%, while Polygon gained 21.58%. Cardano was down 23.70%, Bitcoin declined 4.58% and Ether fell 10.57%.
Among the major cryptocurrencies shown, Polkadot and Avalanche remained sharply lower on a year-to-date basis, declining 29.77% and 11.84%, respectively.
Overall, the September 28 snapshot showed short-term weakness across most major cryptocurrencies, while several altcoins continued to post strong weekly and monthly gains.
