New Delhi, January 8, 2026 (PIB): South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), a public sector coal company operating in Chhattisgarh, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Sri Sathya Sai Health and Education Trust to establish a Healthcare Skill Development Centre at Nava Raipur, Chhattisgarh, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme. SECL will provide financial assistance of ₹35.04 crore for the project.
Free, employment-oriented training for youth from coal-producing regions
The proposed state-of-the-art institute will offer free, skill-based and employment-oriented healthcare training to socio-economically disadvantaged youth, particularly from coal-producing regions of Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. Training will be provided in key healthcare domains, including nursing assistants, technicians and allied healthcare professionals.
The initiative aims to enhance employability while strengthening healthcare service delivery, especially in underserved and remote areas.
The campus will include academic buildings, hostels, residential facilities for staff and related infrastructure. Candidates from SECL’s operational districts will be given priority. At least 20 percent of annual admissions will be reserved for candidates from these districts for a period of 25 years, with the provision to enhance this quota based on performance.
The MoU was signed by Shri C.M. Verma, General Manager (CSR), SECL, and Shri Vivek Narayan Gaur, Trustee, Sri Sathya Sai Health and Education Trust, in the presence of Shri Biranchi Das, Director (HR), SECL.
