Jaipur, 26 November — The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) has introduced the “Application Withdrawal” system, which has proven to be a highly effective and forward-looking initiative. This strategic decision has not only resulted in significant savings of public funds but has also accelerated recruitment procedures across the state.
The innovation was launched to allow candidates without the required eligibility to withdraw their applications voluntarily. As a result, only serious and qualified applicants remain in the recruitment pipeline. This has led to considerable financial savings by eliminating expenditure on unnecessary examination arrangements. Even at the minimum per-candidate examination cost, the total savings due to application withdrawals reach several crores of rupees.
A Transparent, Efficient, and Time-Bound Recruitment Framework
RPSC Chairman Shri Utkal Ranjan Sahu described the initiative as a milestone in creating a time-bound and effective recruitment system. He explained that with the burden of unnecessary applications removed, the Commission can now scrutinise and complete final selection processes much faster.
He also mentioned that candidates who failed to withdraw their applications despite lacking the required qualifications will face action as per rules. Earlier, in the Assistant Professor (Sanskrit College Education) Recruitment 2024, RPSC filed complaints under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Section 217 against 14 such applicants even after warnings and withdrawal opportunities.
Resource Savings and Administrative Benefits — RPSC Secretary
RPSC Secretary Shri Ramniwas Mehta stated that the innovation is not limited to financial savings. The early elimination of lakhs of ineligible applications has led to major administrative efficiency. Significant savings have been made in question paper printing, exam centre management, session planning, and other operational costs.
This step has substantially reduced public expenditure and streamlined examination management.
Appeal to Candidates: Apply Only If You Meet Minimum Eligibility Criteria
Since applications are free of cost, many candidates apply without checking eligibility, causing unnecessary waste of public money, time, and manpower. RPSC has appealed to applicants to carefully study the recruitment advertisement and apply only if they meet the minimum required educational qualifications. This will ensure smooth, uninterrupted, and timely conduct of examinations.
