To address the problems associated with the world’s present educational and skill development system, the new age edtechs have gained massive popularity over the past few years as a mark of vital innovation. The COVID-19 pandemic set many industries on a disastrous course, but on the flip side it helped the edtech platform blossom with its decisive edge and supreme convenience. Computer aided learning has simply become need of the hour emerging from a slew of technological enhancements. Up scaling self through edtech has the benefit of having its access at the convenience of one’s own pace and time, which is particularly helpful to people with full time job engagements. In future, it’s ought to play a crucial role in addressing the critical issue of demand supply mismatch and will subsequently ensure that the workforce is equipped with real world skills for exhibiting optimum performance throughout the industry interface.
Ed-tech platforms have significantly contributed to the proliferation of new avenues. Such a career prospective is required to ensure the industry’s emphasis on technological advancement and the constant ideation and development that goes along with it. It has enabled students alongside individuals who strive to up skill themselves.
A McKinsey study conducted in 2020 revealed that nearly nine in ten executives and managers believe their organizations face skill gaps already or expected gaps to develop within the next five years. Due to COVID-19 and the business disruption it brought, the skills gap is even starker.
EdTech platforms must be swiftly incorporated across various industry interfaces in order to reduce the skill gap between the available and existing workforce. This industry has the potential to be a key catalyst for creating a highly efficient ecosystem, and empowering the next generation. A collaborative effort is needed to enumerate the fact as to how workforce skill development, recruitment and career progressions are closely interlinked and how the edtech is bridging the gap between these.
