Jaipur, December 3. The Rajasthan government has issued a revised notification removing 19 tehsils across six districts from the list of “scarcity-affected” areas after it was found that no farmers were impacted in these regions.
According to the updated notification, Bhusawar in Bharatpur district; Talera and Bundi in Bundi district; Ambapura, Banswara, Chhoti Sarvan, Gangadtalai and Sajjangarh in Banswara district have been excluded from the scarcity category.
Similarly, Amet, Khamnor, Delwara, Rajsamand, Kunwaria and Sardargarh in Rajsamand district; Lasadiya, Salumbar, Jhallara and Sarada in Salumbar district; and Bhadra in Hanumangarh district have also been removed from the list.
Earlier notifications had allowed agricultural input subsidy for farmers in these regions where crops were reported to have suffered 33% or more damage due to floods. The latest notification revises the number of scarcity-affected villages in these districts as well.
In Bharatpur, the count has been revised from 349 to 326 villages.
In Bundi, the number has increased from 534 to 540.
In Deeg district, the earlier count of 58 villages has been updated to 64.
In Baran district, the number has been revised from 1,233 to 1,228 villages.
The government noted that the adjustments were made after reviewing field reports and updated crop damage assessments.
