In line with Supreme Court directives on effective implementation of stray dog population control, sterilization, and vaccination, Rajasthan Chief Secretary V. Srinivas has directed coordinated statewide action, including the development of a unified digital portal to monitor real-time data and progress.
At a high-level review meeting held at the State Secretariat, the Chief Secretary instructed officials to create an integrated platform for systematic data collection, tracking, and performance monitoring, ensuring better planning and execution of population control measures across the state.
The meeting reviewed the current status of Animal Birth Control (ABC) centres responsible for sterilization and vaccination. Officials were directed to identify high-need regions and establish additional ABC centres where required to strengthen on-ground capacity and accelerate results.
Emphasizing multi-agency coordination, the Chief Secretary said all concerned departments and animal welfare organizations must work in close collaboration to effectively manage and reduce the stray dog population.
To ensure structured oversight, directions were issued to form a State-Level Executive Committee, along with regular, time-bound review meetings at the district level. The government also plans to launch public awareness campaigns and large-scale social media outreach to promote responsible behavior and community participation.
With digital monitoring, expanded sterilization infrastructure, and coordinated governance, Rajasthan aims to strengthen vaccination coverage, control stray dog population growth, and improve public health and safety outcomes across the state.
