Jaipur, April 23, 2026: The Rajasthan government, under the direction of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, has approved a 2% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) for state employees and pensioners.
With this revision, DA and DR have been increased from 58% to 60% under the 7th Pay Commission, effective January 1, 2026.
The decision will benefit approximately 7.02 lakh state employees and 5.44 lakh pensioners, taking the total number of beneficiaries to around 12.46 lakh. Employees of Panchayat Samitis and Zila Parishads will also be covered under this increase.
According to the official order, the revised DA will be paid in cash with the May 2026 salary, which will be disbursed in June. Arrears for the period from January 1 to April 30, 2026, will be deposited in the General Provident Fund (GPF) accounts of employees. Pensioners will receive the increased Dearness Relief in cash from January 1, 2026.
The decision is expected to place an additional annual financial burden of approximately ₹1,156 crore on the state exchequer.
