Jaipur, February 20, 2026: Rajasthan Education Minister Madan Dilawar on Friday informed the State Assembly that the government is committed to filling all vacant posts in the Education Department in a phased manner.
He said Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has announced the provision of 4 lakh government jobs over five years, of which nearly 1.75 lakh posts will be for teachers and other education staff. The recruitment drive is being implemented systematically.
72,000 Posts Filled So Far
The minister stated that 72,000 posts have already been filled by the current government, through a mix of promotions and fresh recruitment.
In 2024, recruitment for 2,202 posts was conducted; examinations have been completed and document verification is underway.
In 2025, recruitment for 3,225 posts was announced, and selected teachers will soon join service.
Under Senior Teacher recruitment, 2,129 posts were advertised in 2024 and 6,500 posts in 2025; both processes are ongoing.
He was replying to supplementary questions raised during Question Hour by MLA Thawar Chand.
Criticism of Previous Government
Dilawar said that the previous government upgraded 6,264 schools but did not create a single new post. Similarly, Mahatma Gandhi English Medium Schools were opened without appointing adequate teachers, adversely affecting students.
Reservation and Backlog Vacancies
The minister emphasized that the government is sensitive toward SC, ST, and OBC categories. Any backlog vacancies will be adjusted and filled in upcoming recruitment drives.
Recruitment Structure Explained
In his written reply to the main question, the minister presented category-wise and subject-wise vacancy details of government schools across the state.
