Jaipur, December 4: Rajasthan Chief Secretary V. Srinivas chaired the fourth meeting of the Governing Body of the Social Audit, Accountability and Transparency Society (SSAAT) at the state secretariat on Thursday. The meeting reviewed the progress of social audits conducted for major central and state schemes.
The audits reviewed included the Mahatma Gandhi NREGA, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Swachh Bharat Mission, 15th Finance Commission grants, Mid-Day Meal Scheme, and schemes implemented by the Union Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment.
The Governing Body also approved the proposal to conduct social audits in 2025–26 for additional schemes, including the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana, Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board schemes, and Social Security Pension and Assistance schemes, besides ongoing MGNREGA audits.
Further, the annual progress reports for 2022–23 and 2023–24, along with audit and accounting reports for multiple years, were formally approved.
During the meeting, the Chief Secretary directed officials to hold SSAAT meetings regularly, ensure prompt action on issues highlighted in social audit reports, and conduct periodic inspections of field social audit teams from the headquarters.
Senior officials, including Additional Chief Secretary (Rural Development) Shreya Guha, Principal Accountant General (Rajasthan), Secretaries of Finance (Budget), Panchayati Raj, Labour & Employment, Rural Development, along with the Commissioner (MGNREGA), Director (Social Justice & Empowerment) and Director (SSAAT), attended the meeting.
