Actions are being continuously taken in Surajpur district to curb the illegal transportation of paddy. In this sequence, a joint inspection team of the Revenue and Food Department conducted a raid in Village Krishnapur and intercepted a pickup vehicle transporting fortified mixed rice without valid documents. During the inspection, the team seized a total of 48 sacks, approximately 25 quintals of rice, from the vehicle.
Due to the inability of the transporter to produce the required documents, both the rice and the pickup vehicle have been confiscated and sent to the Surajpur Police Station for further legal action.
It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has directed all district collectors to ensure strict monitoring and action against illegal transportation of paddy and food grains in their respective districts.
