Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma on Monday laid the foundation stone for three major road construction projects worth ₹5.74 crore in the forest and rural areas of the Kawardha Assembly constituency, marking a significant boost to local infrastructure development.
The projects, with a total cost of ₹5.74 crore, are expected to improve connectivity, ease transportation for villagers, and accelerate overall development in the region.
As part of the programme, the Deputy Chief Minister first performed the foundation-laying ceremony for a 6.81-kilometre-long road from the main road to village Katgo, to be constructed at a cost of ₹3.35 crore. The road is expected to provide relief to residents of the forested areas by ensuring direct connectivity with the main route.
He later laid the foundation stone for a 4-kilometre road from the main road to Khirsali, costing ₹1.36 crore. Another road project from the main road to Lata village, measuring 2.80 kilometres and costing ₹1.02 crore, was also inaugurated.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy CM Vijay Sharma congratulated the local residents and said the state government is fully committed to rural development. He informed that 263 houses have been approved in village Katgo under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, with construction currently underway.
The Deputy Chief Minister also announced that a grand foundation-laying ceremony for the Bhoramdev Corridor will be held on January 1 to mark the New Year. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat will be present on the occasion.
