The wife of martyred police constable Dinesh Nag was on Monday presented with a cheque of ₹1.10 crore under the Police Salary Package Scheme in Bijapur.
The cheque was handed over to Mrs Pooja Nag, wife of the late constable, by Bijapur Superintendent of Police Dr Jitendra Kumar Yadav. The amount was issued by the State Bank of India, Bijapur branch, as part of the scheme meant to support families of fallen police personnel.
Constable Dinesh Nag, who was posted with the District Reserve Guard (DRG) in Bijapur, attained martyrdom on August 18, 2025, during an anti-Maoist operation when Maoists triggered an IED blast.
Senior police officials present on the occasion included Additional Superintendent of Police (Operations) Aman Kumar Jha, Additional Superintendent of Police Chandrakant Gawarna, SBI Bijapur Branch Manager Abhay Pratap Singh, BDM Vijay Jhadi, and other officials.
The financial assistance is aimed at honouring the sacrifice of the martyred jawan and providing support and security to his family. Officials said the bravery and supreme sacrifice of constable Dinesh Nag will always be remembered.
