Women’s Kabaddi World Cup star and Chhattisgarh’s pride Sanju Devi called on Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai at his residential office in Raipur on Tuesday.
The Chief Minister extended heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Sanju Devi for her outstanding performance in the World Cup, which brought glory to both Chhattisgarh and the nation. He said,
“You have set a new example of women empowerment. Your achievements will inspire the daughters of Chhattisgarh to move forward with greater enthusiasm in the field of sports. This accomplishment will undoubtedly motivate future generations and help nurture emerging sports talent.”
During the interaction, Sanju Devi shared her life journey, struggles, and experiences in the world of sports with the Chief Minister.
Sanju Devi, who hails from Kerakchar village of Korba district, was honoured with the Most Valuable Player (MVP) title at the Women’s Kabaddi World Cup. The prestigious tournament was held in Dhaka, Bangladesh, from 17 to 24 November.
Several dignitaries were present during the meeting, including Shri Vishw Vijay Singh Tomar, Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Youth Commission; Shri Shashikant Baghel, President of the Chhattisgarh Kabaddi Association; Shri Sewa Ram Sahu, Treasurer; former coach Shri Anuj Pratap Singh, current coach Shri Dil Kumar Rathore, and other officials.
