Raipur, January 8, 2026: Acting on the directions of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, financial assistance of ₹5 lakh was immediately approved for a paralysed woman under the Chief Minister’s Financial Assistance Scheme during the Chief Minister’s Jan Darshan programme.
As part of the Chief Minister’s sensitive and people-centric initiative, Smt. Basanti Saw, a resident of Bade Temri village in Basna block of Mahasamund district, received instant approval of ₹5 lakh to support her medical treatment. Smt. Saw is paralysed in both legs and has been undergoing treatment at AIIMS Raipur, Mekahara, and a private hospital. Her treatment is ongoing, with an estimated expenditure of approximately ₹6.40 lakh for further medical care.
Explaining her condition, Smt. Basanti Saw said that due to her prolonged illness, she and her family are facing severe difficulties. Belonging to an economically weak and poor family, bearing the cost of treatment has become extremely challenging. Her husband, Shri Premkumar Saw, said that after presenting their grievance at the Jan Darshan programme, they received immediate assistance. He expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for his sensitivity and for ensuring swift approval of financial support.
