Jaisalmer District In-Charge Minister and Medical & Health Minister Shri Gajendra Singh Khinsar on Monday held a pre-budget dialogue at the District Collectorate auditorium, engaging with representatives of various social, industrial, tourism, agriculture, and women’s organisations to gather their valuable inputs.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Khinsar said that the pre-budget dialogue, organised as per the Chief Minister’s directions, is an important initiative to strengthen public participation in the budgeting process. The objective is to ensure that practical and development-oriented suggestions from citizens and sectoral organisations are incorporated into the upcoming state budget, thereby accelerating the district’s overall development.
During the interaction, industrial representative Jugal Bohra suggested simplifying the mining allotment process to promote Jaisalmer’s renowned Yellow Stone industry. Uma Shankar of Laghu Udyog Bharati emphasised the need to promote agro-based industries in the district, while Manish Sanwal proposed allocation of land for a dumping yard to enable scientific disposal of industrial waste.
From the tourism sector, Kailash Vyas of K.K. Sam Resort recommended starting hotel management courses to develop Jaisalmer as a tourism hub, opening the Sam region and surrounding 20-kilometre area for tourism development, and ensuring adequate electricity and water supply.
Former विधायक Dr. Jitendra Singh suggested developing Gajroop Sagar as a tourist destination and ensuring water allocation in proportion to land allotment in canal-irrigated areas. Representing the agriculture sector, Manohar Singh Bhati urged that areas exceeding 400 metres be included under the fencing scheme, considering the large land holdings in the district. Meena Parihar highlighted women empowerment initiatives, proposing the availability of CLF buildings at the Gram Panchayat level and establishment of Rajeevika Marts at the village level for Rajeevika women self-help groups.
