The big news of this time related to the strike of petroleum dealers, the ongoing strike of petrol pump dealers in the state ends. Compared to different states across the country, the prices of petrol and diesel are highest in Rajasthan. The reason for this is the VAT imposed by the state government.
This strike was called by Rajasthan Petroleum Dealers Association in protest against high VAT rates on fuel. The association claimed that more than 6,700 fuel pumps across the state are participating in the strike. Let us tell you that on Wednesday, the pump dealers had gone on a two-day symbolic strike (Wednesday and Thursday) from 10 am to 6 pm, demanding VAT rate on petrol and diesel at the same level as in Punjab.
