Parliament is set to witness a heated debate on various issues, including the NEET paper leak controversy and the appointment of Deputy Chairman, as proceedings began for the 6th day in both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on Monday.
During this Parliament session, the proceedings of both the Houses remained disrupted due to the NEET paper leak issue. The opposition demanded a dedicated discussion on NEET, while the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha were to discuss the motion of thanks on the President's address.
The opposition took a tough stand regarding the alleged anomalies in the NEET exam and demanded a discussion on the matter. The Congress party, along with other political parties, urged for deliberations within the Parliament. However, the government insisted on giving priority to the completion of the motion of thanks on the President's address. As a result, both the Houses of Parliament were adjourned, while the Lok Sabha was adjourned till today.
The opposition remained adamant on its demands, leading to continuous uproar in the House. As a result, the Speaker decided to adjourn the proceedings till Monday.
Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Friday expressed his desire to discuss NEET in Parliament. Emphasising the importance of the discussion, he said it should be "respectfully".
