COVID-19 has crippled health system across the globe, but has also given an opportunity to several countries to show their strong spine in saving the population. When it comes to India, the global meter showcased us far behind than many other powerful nations and coronavirus came as an alert for the country to work for the betterment of health infrastructure.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri. Ashok Gehlot, Rajasthan has set several benchmarks in handling the health crisis. The well planned Bhilwara Model, Bikaner’s 3-layer containment strategy and other intensified models to name a few. Now, CM Shri. Ashok Gehlot’s aim of Nirogi Rajasthan seems like a near dream as almost half of the total districts of Rajasthan have crossed above 80% recovery and among them five districts stand tall with 90% plus recovery.
Churu 90.2%, Jalore 96.3%, Jhunjhunu 91.4%, Pali 91.2% and Sirohi 90.6% are the five districts that are speeding towards full recovery. The districts with more than 80% recovery rate are Ajmer 84.6%, Barmer 84.4%, Bharatpur 85.3%, Dausa 86.7%, Dungarpur 86.5%, Jaisalmer 85%, Jhalawar 86.6%, Nagaur 86.2%, Rajsamand 86.2%, Tonk 81.3%, Udaipur 80.1%.
Elaborating over the development, Shri. Raghu Sharma, Health Minister, Rajasthan said, “Rajasthan was the first state to impose lockdown, and strictness in the beginning has helped in containing the spread of the virus. Bringing every section of the society to fight the pandemic has been our plan since the beginning. Spiritual leaders, renowned doctors, educationalists among others came together to spread awareness and that certainly made people aware of the risk. Support of the people of Rajasthan has been immense and under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri. Ashok Gehlot, we will make sure that we work towards fighting this unknown enemy together.”
“The teams are reaching door to door and conducting health surveys. Our health officials are committed to saving lives. With Mission LISA, our priority is to save lives followed by containment of the virus. Good governance, efforts of administration, health workers & police officials have been fruitful in many districts of the state,” said Akhil Arora, Principal Secretary, Medical & Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Rajasthan.
Adding further, “The spike in the number of cases is the result of aggressive testing. We plan to test more & more and currently we have the RT-PCR testing capacity of 45,000 above. I want to tell people to not panic and don’t come out of the house till the time it’s not important. Take necessary precautions and follow the guidelines issued by Rajasthan Government.”
The case doubling rate of Rajasthan has reached 28 days and is likely to hit a month mark very soon. With vigorous efforts, the state eyes strict containment strategies in several districts and lockdown is still being imposed during the weekends in many of them. The state boasts the recovery figure at 76.53%.
