Udaipur’s renowned goldsmith Dr. Iqbal Sakka has set another world record through his exceptional artistry in gold and silver to commemorate 100 years of Indian hockey.
Drawing inspiration from the centenary milestone — the years 1925 to 2025 — and the number 25, Dr. Sakka has crafted the world’s smallest 25 silver hockey sticks and 25 silver balls, all of which can be viewed only through a magnifying lens. Each hockey stick measures just 2 millimeters, while each ball is 1 millimeter in size.
He artistically arranged these miniature creations on a green hockey field, symbolizing India’s national sport. The intricate artwork took him three days to complete.
Dr. Sakka shared that, with the support of Hockey India, the Hockey Centenary Celebration will be held on 7th November at Major Dhyan Chand Stadium, New Delhi.
He has also informed Union Minister of Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, about this unique creation and requested that the artwork — featuring the word “100” spelled out using 25 miniature balls on a green hockey turf — be displayed at the stadium during the centenary event.
