New Delhi, August 13: Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), a NAAC accredited A++ grade central university secured 3rd position in Universities category in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) India Rankings 2024 for the third consecutive year. The disciplines in which JMI has improved its rank and score are Dental, Research Institutions & Engineering while maintaining its rank in Management discipline.
In the Dental category, the Faculty of Dentistry, JMI improved its position from 10th (score 61.14) last year to 8th (score 64.38) this year while in Engineering, the university improved its rank from 26th (59.30 score) to 24th (61.28) this year. The Faculty of Dentistry improved its position most significantly in the year 2023 when it reached to 10th rank from 16th in 2022 and the Faculty continued to improve its performance this year too. It has secured third position among government dental colleges in the country and the only non-postgraduate (PG) institute to feature in the top 10, with all other dental colleges offering postgraduate programs like MDS.
The university is continuously improving its position in the category of Research Institutions too as it reached to 19th rank (score 56.12) from 20th (score 55.86) last year. The Faculty of Management of the varsity improved its score in Management category 59.78 last year to 60.32 this year and maintained 25th rank in the country. In Overall category, Architecture & Planning and Law categories also the varsity improved its score with a little change in ranks.
