New Delhi, March 26, 2026: The National Highways Authority of India has invited applications for its two-month Summer Internship Programme 2026, aimed at providing hands-on exposure to students across technical and non-technical disciplines. The programme will be conducted between May and July 2026.
The internship, expected to run from May 4 to July 5, 2026, is designed to offer practical learning opportunities within India’s national highway development ecosystem. It builds on the success of NHAI’s winter and six-month internship programmes and seeks to prepare future professionals in infrastructure development.
Under the expanded framework, the programme is open to students from a wide range of fields, including civil engineering, computer science, information technology, electronics, electrical, instrumentation, and data science/AI. Additionally, non-technical streams such as law, commerce, science, management (HR, finance, marketing), mass communication, and library science have also been included to broaden participation.
Selected candidates will be placed either at NHAI’s field offices across the country or its headquarters in New Delhi, where they will work under the guidance of experienced officials. The internship offers a monthly stipend of ₹20,000, along with a certificate upon successful completion.
Eligibility is primarily limited to full-time undergraduate and postgraduate students from top-ranked institutions under the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), along with reputed law, management, and communication institutes.
Interested candidates can apply through the official NHAI internship portal by April 15, 2026. The application process requires students to submit academic and personal details online, while their respective institutions must verify and approve the applications for further consideration.
NHAI has also urged academic institutions to actively promote the programme and support students through the application process by appointing faculty coordinators.
