NEW DELHI, 15 December 2025: Dr Praveen K Singh, Agriculture Commissioner, Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Government of India today emphasized on location-specific agronomy, waste-to-wealth initiatives, efficient use of surface and rainwater resources, reduction in cost of cultivation, and promotion of crops aligned with future agricultural requirements to strengthen the resilience of India’s agricultural systems.
Addressing the FICCI’s 5th ‘Sustainable Agriculture Summit and Awards 2025’ with YES BANK as knowledge partner Mr Naveen Kumar Patle – Additional Commissioner (Horticulture – Fruit), Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, MoAF&W, Government of India also emphasized on the importance of sustainable agriculture.
On the occasion, FICCI- YES BANK report titled ‘Sustainability Champions: Recognizing Private Sector Initiatives Strengthening Sustainable Agriculture in India’ was released by distinguished dignitaries.
FICCI Sustainable Agriculture Awards 2025 were announced during the event. Mr. Siraj Chaudhry, Senior Member, FICCI said, “At a time when agriculture is undergoing rapid transformation, these award-winning initiatives serve as inspiring examples for the wider ecosystem.”
Launched in 2021, FICCI Sustainable Agriculture Awards recognized organisations across multiple focus areas, including sustainable farmer income enhancement, farm-level sustainability in sourcing, natural resource management and climate-resilient agriculture, agri-based decarbonization, and sustainable livelihood advancement for women in agriculture. The awards underscore the growing role of industry-led initiatives in supporting India’s transition towards a more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable agricultural ecosystem.
