Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the Maritime India Summit 2021 today through video conferencing. The event was also attended by the Minister of Transport of Denmark, Mr. Benny Englebrecht, Chief Ministers of Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh, Union Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, and Union Minister of State (I/C) for Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Shri Mansukh Mandaviya.
In his welcome address, Shri Mansukh Mandaviya highlighted that the Maritime India Summit is one of the world’s largest virtual summits, with over 1.7 lakh registered participants from more than 100 countries. The three-day summit will witness the participation of ministers from eight nations, more than 50 global CEOs, and over 160 speakers, including 115 international experts from 24 countries.
Shri Mandaviya also assured stakeholders and investors worldwide that the Government of India is fully committed to facilitating investments in the maritime sector and advancing the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
