Jaipur, July 9 – In a significant move to provide high-quality seeds to cooperative societies and farmers, and to boost the marketing of organic products, Rajasthan State Cooperative Marketing Federation (RAJFED) has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with the Bharatiya Beej Sahakari Samiti Ltd. (BBSSL) and the National Cooperative Organics Ltd. (NCOL). The MoUs were signed on Wednesday at the RAJFED office and are expected to directly benefit farmers and cooperative members in the coming days.
Under the leadership of Minister of State for Cooperation (Independent Charge) Shri Gautam Kumar Daga, and the guidance of Principal Secretary and Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Smt. Manju Rajpal, the state is effectively implementing the "Prosperity through Cooperation" initiative. These MoUs align with their vision and are poised to enhance marketing opportunities for organic products, ensure the supply of high-quality seeds to farmers, improve livelihood opportunities, and expand market access for farming groups.
The MoU with NCOL will facilitate better marketing of products like basmati rice, paddy, wheat, pulses, honey, millets, and medicinal products.
On behalf of RAJFED, Managing Director Shri Tikam Chand Bohra signed the MoUs. Representing BBSSL was Institutional Head Shri Parampveer Yadav, and from NCOL, Cooperative Head Shri Vineet Kumar signed the agreement. It is notable that the Rajasthan government has designated RAJFED as the nodal agency for the marketing of organic products through NCOL and the supply of high-quality seeds via BBSSL.
To date, more than 2,700 cooperative societies in Rajasthan have joined BBSSL, and around 217 societies have affiliated with NCOL.
Also present at the occasion were RAJFED General Manager Shri Amit Sharma, ‘Sahakar Se Samriddhi’ Consultant Shri R.S. Jodha, and other senior officials.
