Jaipur, February 6, 2026: Solar energy producers and developers in Rajasthan who have already installed decentralized solar power plants under Component-C of the PM-KUSUM scheme have received a major boost. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has approved central financial assistance of ₹46.64 crore in the first phase.
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma had recently met Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi in New Delhi and requested early release of the central assistance. State Energy Minister Hiralal Nagar had also written to the Union Minister, following which coordination was carried out between the Energy Department and Rajasthan DISCOMs at the ministry level.
Under feeder-level solarization in Component-C, a total of 991 projects with a combined capacity of 2,462 MW have been installed in the state. Based on the installed solar PV capacity, claims exceeding ₹233 crore were submitted to the Centre. On this basis, MNRE has issued approval orders for ₹46.64 crore to Jaipur, Jodhpur and Ajmer power distribution companies. The funds will now be directly transferred into the bank accounts of solar power producers through the central nodal agency, Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).
Rajasthan DISCOMs are maintaining continuous coordination with solar power producers and developers to ensure that claims submitted to MNRE are complete and processed quickly.
3,000 MW Capacity Target Achieved Two Months Ahead of Schedule
Under Components-A and C of the KUSUM scheme, Jaipur, Jodhpur and Ajmer DISCOMs have already achieved a combined capacity of 3,007 MW through installation of 1,366 small solar power plants, reaching the 3,000 MW target nearly two months ahead of schedule. Congratulating farmers, the Energy Department and DISCOMs, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma posted on X that the achievement reflects their dedication and hard work.
Chief Secretary V. Srinivas had set a deadline of March 31, 2026, during a review meeting of the Energy Department on January 5, 2026, but the target was achieved well in advance.
