Jaipur, March 12:
The Rajasthan Mines Department has collected more than ₹9,135 crore in revenue by March 10, marking an increase of ₹936 crore compared to the same period last financial year. The department has now set an ambitious target of collecting over ₹1,500 crore in March to further strengthen state revenues.
Principal Secretary (Mines) T. Ravikant issued strict instructions to field officials to ensure 100% achievement of revenue collection targets for the month of March. The directives were given during a hybrid review meeting held at the state secretariat with senior department officials.
Ravikant said the department has recorded strong revenue growth over the past three months, including December, January, and February. Notably, February saw a record revenue collection of ₹1,060 crore, reflecting improved monitoring and enforcement across mining operations.
He also informed officials that a detailed revenue collection roadmap has been prepared and circulated among field officers to accelerate collections during the remaining weeks of the financial year. The Principal Secretary emphasized that any negligence in meeting revenue targets would not be tolerated.
To strengthen regulatory oversight, the Mines Department is coordinating with the Transport Department to monitor vehicles transporting minerals across the state. The new system will enable real-time alerts whenever transport authorities inspect mineral-carrying vehicles, allowing mining officials to verify the validity of transport permits and ensure that the quantity of minerals being transported matches the authorized limit.
As part of this initiative, the department received 6,092 cases from the Transport Department between February 2 and March 6. These cases have been forwarded to the respective district mining offices for verification of permits and further action where necessary.
