The Heavy Civil Infrastructure Business of Larsen & Toubro has secured an order from the prestigious Greenko group, one of the world’s leading renewable energy companies, for development of an off stream pumped storage project in Madhya Pradesh.
The Civil and Hydromechanical works of the project will be executed through a Consortium led by Larsen & Toubro, under a stringent timeline of 30 months. Upon completion, the project will be one of the largest clean energy projects of its kind in India.
Securing this pumped storage system order reiterates Larsen & Toubro’s commitment to bolster India’s clean energy sector and a step forward towards the country’s goal of being Carbon Neutral.

The L&T-built Terminal 2 of Kempegowda International Airport was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India on November 11, 2022. Pivoted on the concept of a ‘terminal in a garden’, the architecture integrates several natural elements such as clay, bricks, bamboo, rattan, and extensive landscape. Sustainability principles have been woven into the design with 100% usage of renewable energy across its campus.
The most exceptional feature of T2 is its gardens in various constructs – hanging garden, calming garden, sunken garden, an artificial forest belt, rattan furniture and an expansive engineered bamboo ceiling and column wrappings, for which about 1,000 kilometers of engineered bamboo have been incorporated into the building interior.
Designed to serve up to 25 million passengers per annum, T2 is spread over 112 acres with a total built area of 2.86 million Sq feet and features 15 bus gates, 61 Check-in counters, 34 Self baggage drop counters, 36 departure immigration desks, 40 arrival immigration desks, 9 Baggage claim conveyors, 23 passenger boarding bridges and 11 Fixed link bridges. It certainly is a green landmark of the future!
