The Joint Admission Board (JAB) has reversed its recent decision to increase the number of attempts for the Joint Entrance Examination Advanced (JEE Advanced) from two to three. The board has decided to reinstate the previous eligibility criterion of a maximum of two attempts, which had been in place since 2013.
According to an official notice released after the JAB meeting on November 15, 2024:
“The Joint Admission Board (JAB) has decided to restore the earlier eligibility criterion used in previous years pertaining to number of attempts in JEE (Advanced), superseding the criterion mentioned in the Press Release dated November 05, 2024. This decision was taken after evaluating various competing requirements. All other eligibility criteria remain unchanged.
