Delivering the special lecture on “Constitutional Vision of Fraternity: Building Social Harmony in Viksit Bharat”, Shri Jain offered a deeply insightful analysis of fraternity as an indispensable constitutional value. He attributed the term fraternity just like a glue which binds and connects the people of diverse faith, culture, language and ethnicity with a sense of belongingness and inclusivity reflecting the spirit of the starting words of the preamble to the Constitution of India, “We the people of India…”. He also dealt with the constitutional goals of fraternity aspired by the framers of the Constitution with special mention of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. He emphasized that fraternity is not merely an aspirational term in the Preamble, but a dynamic principle that guides nation-building, justice delivery, and the strengthening of social harmony. Drawing from real-life illustrations, he explained how constitutional ideals translate into lived experiences and contribute to shaping an inclusive and progressive society. He underlined that a truly developed India—a Viksit Bharat—can only emerge when its citizens uphold unity, mutual respect, and brotherhood.
The lecture was followed by a collective Recitation of the Preamble to the Constitution (Both in English & Hindi) led by Prof. G. Yazdani, symbolizing the community’s shared commitment to constitutional morality and democratic citizenship.
The Vote of Thanks was given by Dr. Subhradipta Sarkar, Subject Advisor, in which he expressed profound gratitude to Shri Jain for his thought-provoking address, and acknowledged the guidance of the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Mazhar Asif, and Hon'ble Registrar, Prof. (Dr.) Md.
