Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) Vice Chancellor, Prof. Najma Akhtar approved recommendations of a Committee to grant higher grade pay to 76 non-teaching employees under Assured Career Progression (ACP) / Modified Assured Career Progression Scheme (MACPS). These cases were pending for quite a long time due to various reasons and the decision will result in financial up-gradation of these employees.
Some of the cases were pending since 2003 under erstwhile ACP Scheme have also been reviewed and rectified. Those who have retired and are covered under the scheme shall also be getting the benefit of the decision.
Seventy-six employees who will be getting financial benefit due to the decision thanked the Vice Chancellor for granting them their long pending dues.
This decision has brought happiness and relief to the non-teaching employees of the university in the midst of ongoing corona virus pandemic. MACPS allows three financial up-gradations in the career of a Central Government Employee. Counting for up-gradation under MACPS starts from the direct entry grade on completion of 10, 20, 30 years services respectively. Earlier it was known as ACP Scheme.
