Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) is all set to host North Zone Inter University Basketball (Men’s) Championship 2022 – 2023 from 25th December to 30th December, 2022. Sixty four (64) teams are participating in the championship wherein each team will consist of 12 players excluding the Coach and the Manager. All eyes will be on the JMI team as it is the defending champion of the North Zone Inter University Basketball (Men’s) Championship 2021 also.
The matches will be played at Jamia Basketball Court, Nawab Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi (NMAKP) Sports Complex, JMI from morning to evening (i.e., from 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.). The Championship will be played on Knockout cum league basis.
Prof. Nazim Husain Jafri, Registrar, JMI will be the Chief Guest and Prof. Ibraheem, DSW will be the Guest of honour of the inaugural function. They will meet the teams before the start of the game. Prof. Sanjay Singh Chairman, Organizing Secretary, Prof. Waseem Ahmad Khan, Director, Games & Sports and Convenor, Prof. Shabana Mehfuz, President (Basketball) and Dr. Mohd. Moonis will welcome all the participating teams and their officials.
JMI Vice-Chancellor Prof. Najma Aktar will be Chief Guest of the Closing ceremony. A large number of students, teachers and officials are expected to witness the inaugural and closing ceremonies.
