Mr. Munna Khalid, a PhD student of Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has won two bronze medals at Indonesia Para Badminton International 2024, organized in Solo city of Indonesia. The Championship was organized by BWF Badminton World Federation where countries from across the world participated.
After winning group matches Khalid reached the semi-final but lost to South Korea's number one ranked player Kim JJ by 12-21 & 11-21 in the match. In mixed doubles also he had to be satisfied with a bronze medal.
Recently in the month of July, Khalid won gold, silver and bronze medals in Uganda Para Badminton Championship 2024. He also participated in Para Badminton World Championship 2024 in the month of February, 2024. In December last year Khalid won a bronze medal in Khelo India Para Games 2023. So far Khalid has won seven international medals for India which include two gold, two silver and three bronze medals.
Officiating Vice Chancellor of JMI, Prof. Mohammad Shakeel congratulated Munna Khalid for the achievement and wished him success in his future endeavors.
Prof. Aurangzeb Khurram Hafeez, Hony. Director, Games and Sports, JMI hoped that Khalid will bring more laurels to the university and the country. He wished him success in the coming championships.
