Jamia Millia Islamia has been ranked at 538 position worldwide by Moscow-based Round University Ranking(RUR) 2020 among the world’s 1100 universities assessed, improving its position from 631 last year.
At India level the university has been ranked at 10th position which is also an improvement from 11 last year. RUR Ranking Agency in a partnership with Clarivate Analytics announced the release of Round University Ranking 2020.
Among the 4 key areas of university activities JMI scored maximum in teaching. The university has been ranked at 186, 684, 794 and 677 positions worldwide in teaching, research, International diversity and financial sustainability respectively.
Expressing happiness over the improved ranking Prof. Najma Akhtar, VC, JMI gave full credit for the improvement to the teaching faculty for their extra ordinary research and academic works, ” Teachers are the back bone of any academic institution. Without their contribution no academic institution can excel. I give full credit for the improvement in ranking to the teaching faculty of Jamia Millia Islamia”, she added.
RUR World University Ranking assesses higher education institutions across the borders since 2010 until now. Over the 10 years, 1100 world`s leading universities from 85 countries took part in the RUR Rankings. RUR Ranking evaluates universities performance by 20 indicators grouped into four key areas: teaching, research, internationalization, financial sustainability.
RUR Ranking is designed to provide relevant information on global higher education to address stakeholder`s personal tasks: students, academic community, university management, policy makers.
