New Delhi, September 03: To commemorate World Physiotherapy Day, Centre for Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Sciences, Jamia Millia Islamia showcased its commitment to community welfare by organizing a free physiotherapy camp in collaboration with Hope charitable Project in Basti Nizamuddin.
The programme was initiated by Hony, Director Prof. Zubia Veqar, CPRS, JMI along with faculty members of the centre. Prof. Veqar ensures community people are treated with patient centric approach and provided with the best quality treatment available.
Local residents were informed about this valuable opportunity through the diligent efforts of Hope Project volunteers, who made announcements through speakers and banners led by CPRS, JMI throughout the Basti Nizamuddin community.
The camp received an overwhelming response of the local residents who came to get diagnosed and treated for various musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiovascular and sports injuries. Our faculty team along with the research scholars, PG and UG students benefitted over 150 patients through this camp. The core idea of the camp was not only focused on immediate treatment strategies but to provide guidance on long-term health enhancing behaviour through lifestyle modifications and patients tailored strategies. Emphasizing the importance of physiotherapy, patients were further advised to visit CPRS, JMI for follow-ups sessions thereby maintaining continuum of care.
Prof Zubia Veqar along with the camp in-charges Dr. Moazzam Hussain Khan and Dr. Aqsa Mujaddadi extended vote of thanks for unwavering support to Prof. Samiur Rehaman (Executive Director) and Dr. Lipi Dhar (Medical Director) at the Hope Project and their team for providing opportunity to our centre to serve underprivileged sections of the society. The conjoint efforts of CPRS, JMI and the HOPE charitable project made this event a huge success.
